Melee
Melee weapons include bat’leths and other such items from various cultures. There are also unarmed melee combat abilities such as the karate chop and Vulcan nerve pinch. It is also possible to use your ranged weapon butt to attack enemies who come into close range. Melee weapons go straight through personal shields, directly attacking the target. (continue reading…)

Targets outside of this arc cannot be fired upon by the weapon; you must turn so that the target is within the firing arc in order to fire. Mark Mk levels

The Mark, or Mk, level of an item corresponds directly to the minimum rank a player must hold in order to be able to equip the item. The odd-numbered Marks (e.g. I, III, V, VII, IX) correspond to slightly lower-quality versions of the next Mark up. In other words, a Mk III item is a lower-quality version of a Mk IV item, both of which can be used by their corresponding rank (Lt. Commander). (continue reading…)
