Star trek guide to Ship Terminology

Consoles

There are 3 types of consoles in the game, these are Science, Tactical and Engineering. Each console effects different stats of your ship. Each of the 3 ship lines usually favors a specific slot type, thus a science ship will have more science console slots, an Escort will have more tactical console slots. When you look at a console, right clicking it with show a menu, if you click ‘info’ a window will pop up giving you examples of what skills the console stat effects. It is a very good idea to check exactly what your console effects, ideally you want consoles that complement your bridge officer skills. As a rule of thumb, consoles of the same type to not stack stats in a linear fashion.

Federation Space Traits

Improves the accuracy of space weapons.
+0.1 Accuracy

Astrophysicist
Improves your operations stat, which enhances ship deflector, emitter and sensor abilities.
+10 Starship Operations Training

Efficient
Provides a bonus to efficiency stats, improving the effectiveness of many of your power management abilities.
+5 to Starship Shield, Engine, Energy Weapon and Auxiliary Efficiency

Elusive
Reduces the chance for enemy ships to hit you with their weapons.
+0.1 Defense

Joined Symbiote
The memories of your symbiote improve your abilities in a wide range of starship roles.
+3.3 to Starship Energy & Projectile Weapons, Warp Core, Engineering Training, and +6.7 to Starship Operations Training

star trek Badges & Medals

Exploration Badges
These badges are earned from completing missions like Explore the Delta Volanis Cluster. Their names are:
Badge of Exploration, 1st Order – Delta Volanis, Arucanis Arm (Still need to add ground ~Profetius)
Badge of Exploration, 2nd Order – Hromi Cluster, Khazon Cluster (Still need to add ground ~Profetius)
Badge of Exploration, 3rd Order – Afehirr Nebula, Eridani Belt
Badge of Exploration, 4th Order – Rolor Nebula, Betreka Nebula
Badge of Exploration, 5th Order – Zenas Expanse, B’Tran Cluster
Federation – Earth Spacedock
Space Item Trade NPCs are located on the 2nd floor of the Shipyard.
Ground Item Trade NPCs are located in the center of the station.

star trek online Ranks & Grades

Players advance in Star Trek Online using Skill Points. You will receive Skill Points for completing quests, earning accolades and defeating your enemies. You will advance through five Rank during the course of the game, and each rank contains 10 grades (i.e. Lieutenant grades 1-10, Lieutenant Commander grades 1-10).

Experience Bar
At the top of the screen is the experience bar. The top experience bar shows how close you are to your next grade. The lower experience bar shows how close you are to your next rank. To the left of the experience bars, next to your current rank and grade, your “pips” are displayed. Mousing over the experience bar will show the requirements for your next grade, and rank, as well as the rewards for reaching those goals. (continue reading…)

Away Team Gear
